MEASUREMENTS & VOLUME

MEASUREMENTS - As our furniture is handmade in dozens of villages from different regions of Java, the measurements quoted are approximate and may vary from piece to piece, even on the same model.

Our measurements are shown as follows – HEIGHT x LENGTH x DEPTH
In both centimeters and inches.

VOLUME (cubic meters) – Our price list will give you an approximate guide to the amount of cubic meters you will need to fill your container.

 20 foot Container will approximately need 26 cubic meters to fill
40 foot Container will approximately need 52 cubic meters to fill
40-foot high cube container will approximately need 64 cubic meters to fill  

PLEASE NOTE - Due to the shape of some of our designs, cubic meters given are approximate and are not exact.

DELIVERY TIMES

Delivery times will vary from order to order depending on the quantities of each model that has been ordered. Companies who require 1 to 2 of the same item/code will take longer then a company who requires 5 to 10 of same items/code.  
20 ft Container – 45 to 60 days from time of deposit or final confirmation after any changes.
40ft Container – 60 to 75 days from time of deposit or final confirmation after any changes.

PACKING

We pack our furniture in Corrugated Cardboard, double layers of Cardboard are used on top of Buffets, Coffee Table, Dining Table, Lamp Table etc for extra protection.

SHIPPING

For customers who prefer PT dekor INTERNATIONAL to organize shipping, we will obtain shipping quotes from 3 different Shipping Companies, whoever is the most economical will get your business. The “All in” price will be shown on your commercial invoice. The “ALL IN” Collect price will be inclusive of everything from Trucking your container to Semarang Port , all legal documentation and Ocean Freight to your nearest Port.

Your Forwarding Agent will then take over at this point to organize your container to be delivered from arrival Port to your store. Costing for this is to be discussed with your Forwarding Agent. Payment for the “ALL IN” collect price for shipping etc & then from arrival port to your store, will be paid directly to your Forwarding Agent by you.

TIMBERS AVAILABLE

The Timber used to build our furniture is Kilned Dried, with a Moisture Content of Approximately 15%MC

TEAK TIMBER:

If you prefer a smoother finish, order Teak. Being one of the world’s strongest and more expensive timbers, it is quite sought after for it’s ability to complement most decors with it’s beautiful grain structure however supplies of this beautiful timber are running out, and are getting more expensive to obtain. The colors within one piece of timber will vary from cream to dark brown depending on the age of the log. Teak is also commonly used in outdoor furniture, as it stands up to the elements with minimal treatment. Teak is slick, strong and in our opinion, beautiful Furniture can be made from this timber.
COLOR STAINS:- LIGHT, MEDIUM CHOCOLATE, DARK nearly Black

MAHOGANY TIMBER:

If you prefer a more Rustic appearance with you furniture, Mahogany timber would be recommended, as the Mahogany timber in this region of Java, is more uneven in texture and in colour in which to achieve “The Rustic Look” Characteristically, Indonesian Mahogany varies from a pinkish color to a reddish brown color with a close, uniform grain. This is why when you will receive Mahogany items in your order they will vary in color.
COLOR STAINS:- TEA BROWN, WARM MEDIUM, DARK nearly Black

PLEASE NOTE: Teak and Mahogany are two totally different timbers, we are not able to stain a Mahogany itemin a Teak finish, due to the underlying red pigment in Mahogany timber, nor can we stain a Teak item to look exactly the same as Mahogany.

HOW TO READ OUR CODING FOR THE dekor CATALOGUE

Firstly, each code will have beside it either an
M which stands for Mahogany Timber or a T which stands for Teak Timber. In our Printed Catalogue, you will see one or both timbers beside the code eg BED652M/T, this indicates that the item BED652 is available in both Mahogany or Teak, however if this code read BED652T, this indicates that this item is only available in Teak timber.
Please refer to current price list for the price difference between the 2 timbers.

Secondly, some codes will have extra letters to indicate door styles available in that particular model, see example B.

However after the code you will need to indicate which door style you prefer, eg CAB502TBD - the BD will indicate to us that you prefer that Model with a Basketweave Door.

PLEASE NOTE. If you send us an order with CAB502T written only, without any indication of Door Style, we will automatically order you the Door Style shown on the photo. Not all Models are available in different Door Styles, however your current price list will indicate which Models are available in different door styles.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS:

In light of today's awareness of environmental issues with regard to the depletion of the World's rainforests, it must be made clear that neither Teak nor Mahogany is indigenous to the Indonesian ecosystem. The Dutch, from Honduras, imported seedlings into Indonesia over 400 years ago. Plantations were developed to meet the needs of this community. Due to the high demand for wood, the government has continued a strict rotation and reforestation program.

HOW WE GOT STARTED

PT dekor INTERNATIONAL has been operating for 8 years in Indonesia and has the distinction of being a totally foreign owned and Managed Enterprise. Tony Pondes, the Owner and Chief Executive Officer, originated from The Netherlands. After migrating to Australia in the early 1960's, he went on to own one of the largest Furniture Manufacturing Companies. His passion for furniture has never stopped, and this is why he was attracted to Indonesia in the early 1980's. With Indonesia's unique handcrafted furniture and friendly people, he was convinced that the opportunities were here for someone of his experience in furniture, passion and professionalism. TERMS & CONDITIONS

• 40% Deposit is required before commencement of your order, once deposit is received into our bank account, we immediately commence processing you order.  
• Any adjustments to your order may be made within 5 working days after receiving deposit or confirmation. Please remember that this will delay your order for a further week.
• Once your container has been packed and it is on its way to you, we will fax or email a Copy of the invoice, Copy of Bill of Lading and a Request for Payment. Upon receipt of this fax or email, it would be advisable to remit the remaining funds within seven days, so that we can courier your documentation to you BEFORE your container arrives. Failure to deposit remaining funds 7 days prior to arrival of your container may result in expensive demurrage costs for you whilst you are waiting for your original documentation to arrive. PLEASE NOTE that the courier services available from Indonesia can take from 3 to 5 working days to reach you depending on which part of the globe you are in.
• PT dekor International will not bear any costs of shipping and related costs to shipping to your destination, unless otherwise agreed in writing by both parties.
